Colin and Michele Crozier were visiting Ucluelet from North Vancouver last week. Although they have been fishing with other Oak Bay Marine Group properties before, this was their first time with the Canadian Princess Resort. They went out for four days on a Boston Whaler Outrage charter, two days with Skipper Luke and two with Skipper Kyle. Needless to say, these two had an amazing time out on the water. Between the two of them they landed the Catch of the Day for salmon on a Whaler two days in a row and the Catch of the Day for halibut!
It was Colin took the crown twice for salmon. His first catch was a 17lbs-05oz Chinook salmon. The next day he reeled in a smaller, but still impressive, 12lbs-03oz salmon. Here are the happy Croziers with their Skipper and trophy fish!
The fish above was a 19lbs-10oz caught by Michele. She also stole the show for halibut when she reeled in this 17lbs-08oz slab. Both landed her the title for Catch of the Day for those days. All of the Crozier's salmon were registered in the Ucluelet Salmon Ladder Derby.
Meanwhile on the Chinook Princess, Matt Danks and Carl Trepels were limiting out on salmon and catching halibut and lingcod too. These two have been coming out to the Canadian Princess Resort since 2005.
“We limited out on Chinook over our two day trip,” said Matt. “All were between 15 to 20 pounds! It was awesome fishing,”
Their Catch of the Day was a 18lbs-07oz Chinook salmon.
