Chum Derby at the Canadian Princess

Canadian Princess Resort - June 19, 2011

Yesterday we had our first Canadian Princess Resort Chum Derby! We offer three distinct derby's that groups can pre-purchase and offer a range of prizes from rods and reels to a 2 night sea view accommodation at our sister resort, Painter’s Lodge in Campbell River.

These derby's often provide for a bit of extra excitement, friendly competition between large groups or friends, and awesome prizes to round out an action packed trip.

We were lucky to have this group who chose to get together from the mainland and partake in our two day Chum derby. After getting back to the docks, it was great to see 30 guys hoot and holler as the different salmon and halibuts were weighed in. Once the winners were declared, I was happy to hand out the prizes from a new Stik 9’ downrigger rod, to a tricked out tackle box.

Congratulations to
Brad Holliman for the largest salmon of 27.8 Ibs.
Charles Reamer for the second largest salmon of 22.8 Ibs.
Jordan Sevenhuysen for the largest halibut of 31.8 Ibs.
Michel Lagasse for the second largest halibut of 23 Ibs.
Dave Makay for the largest combined weight of two fish.

We look forward to future groups taking on the Canadian Princess derby challenge. If you have questions regarding the derbys we offer or would like to enquire, check out http://www.canadianprincess.com/fishing/fishing-derbies/ or call our booking office at 1-800-663-7090.
