Keep the Salmon Coming!

Canadian Princess Resort - August 25, 2012

She loved the scenery of Barkley Sound.  They saw whales and sea lions amongst the dramatic shorelines, rocky outcrops and ancient trees gnarled from a lifetime of weather.

Sondra Jefferies was fishing with her husband Bernie; and her sister and brother in law, Cheryl and Cory Young the day before last.  She landed the Catch of the Day aboard the Salmon Princess.

The highlight was that 18lbs-07oz Chinook salmon she caught.  The Jefferies, who live in Mesa, Arizona, are not new to Oak Bay Marine Group.  They had a northern fishing adventure with the Salmon Seeker in Haida Gwaii with a group of friends.  She said on that trip, and between her group of fishing friends, they caught over a hundred pounds of salmon!

Tom Rascher has been fishing with the Canadian Princess for 7 years in a row.  This trip he caught 2 salmon and 1 halibut on this trip.  One of his salmon was the very next Catch of the Day.  His Chinook weighed 26lbs-08oz.  Good job Tom!

The weather has been warm and sunny over the last several days.  Clouds are going to roll in today and stick around until Wednesday with periods of fog and rain.  Things will clear again near the end of the week with sunny skies in the forecast.

Gone Fishing,
