The Oak Bay Marine Group is excited to announce the hiring of our new Chief Executive Officer, Peter Ciceri. We’re confident that Peter can build on the amazing legacy left by our founder, Bob Wright, and ensure that we continue to be the leader in the hospitality, marina and eco- tourism industries.
Peter graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of Victoria, and an MA in Counseling Psychology from UBC. He began his sales career in 1980 with Xerox Canada in Victoria and would go on to work in over 30 countries, including time spent as a regional manager with HP and managing director of Tandem Asia Pacific Computers. In 1998 he returned to Canada as CEO of Compaq Canada. Peter then joined Victoria’s Custom House in 2007 as President and CEO, playing a key role in the company's acquisition by Western Union for $370M USD. This represented a 400% increase in the value of the company over the four years of his tenure.
Following his time with Custom House he started his own successful private practice as an Executive Coach, Corporate Director and Counselor, helping CEOs build value through effective leadership and management practices. In addition to his own business, Peter is also currently on the board of Terapeak Inc. and Archipelago Marine Services.
An avid sailor, Peter bought his first boat when he was only 12 years old and is still sailing. His passion for the ocean combined with his wealth of business experience makes him a perfect fit for our organization. He believes in the critical importance of connecting with customers and in the power of people as necessary conditions to build value in a business.
Peter will begin his role as CEO on July 7th. We are thrilled to have him on board and are excited about a great future ahead for the Oak Bay Marine Group!
