Vancouver Island Fishing

British Columbia fishing adventuresExperience the adventure of a British Columbia fishing trip with the Canadian Princess Resort on Vancouver Island.

Set off from the resort in a 43’ or 52’ cabin cruiser targeting salmon, halibut or bottom fish — the choice is yours. A professional skipper and deckhand accompany you on the trip and familiarize you with the equipment, coach you on technique and help you bring in your catch.

You fish party-style with other guests, enjoying the camaraderie of celebrating great catches with other anglers. Our boats take you to fishing hotspots like the offshore banks, Barkley Sound and the waters off Ucluelet.

We provide top quality mooching rods with star drag reels and drift fishing lures. We use level wind Shimano rods and reels with 8 oz. Salmon Slayer lures. They’ve been tried and tested in these waters and are known to produce the best results on British Columbia fishing trips. You are always welcome to bring your favourite rod and reel if you prefer.

Vancouver Island halibut fishingCoffee and hot chocolate are available during fishing trips. The cabin cruisers have plenty of deck space, a heated cabin and washroom facilities. Once back at the resort, your fish will be cleaned, packaged in strong plastic bags, refrigerated and waiting for you to take home.

Morning salmon or halibut fishing trips leave at 6:00 am and return at approximately 1:00 pm. Afternoon salmon or halibut trips leave at 2:00 pm and return at sunset. Bottom fishing trips leave at 2:30 pm and return at approximately 6:30 pm.
