The “bar” is being raised on a daily basis this year for our May Madness Derby. There is still time left to come out, catcha a fish, win a daily prize, and try for a free trip back in 2007!
On May 13, Glenn Rudkin brought in a 56 lb halibut, setting a new May Madness record. Not to be outdone, Jamie Peccin of Alberta brought in a 25 lb Chinook to set a new May Madness Chinook record. Leading our staff derby, is Dave Martin, Maintenance Supervisor, with a 24 pound Chinook!
May 14 brought us near blistering temperatures, for Ucluelet anyway, and an 18 pound Chinook for Neil Brewer of North Vancouver, B.C. Also wieghed in was a 25 pound halibut by Andy Royce of Olympia, Washington.
With the nice weather comes nice fishing, and it is really picking up on both sides. Be sure to wear your sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and bring lots of water!
