Seems like the record for the largest Chinook at the Canadian Princess Resort doesn't stand for long. Last week, Bill Gemar of Missoula Montana caught a 47 lb beauty on an afternoon fishing trip. This beats the previous record of 46 lbs held by Jerry Bishop of Kennewick, Washington. Springs averaging 10-15 lbs continue to be produced on a regular basis, with some over 30 also being hauled in. Coho are making an appearance in the Barkley Sound area, providing anglers with a great challenge. There's no retention on Coho, but they're putting up a great fight as anglers catching and releasing them, enjoying the sport aspect of fishing. Bottom fishing continues to be hot with lots of cod in the waters and on the end of angler's lines. Look for the fishing to stay steady into the fall.
