There’s more to life than morning fishing trips that are action packed with hauling wild pacific salmon and hearty halibut into the boat. There is also afternoon fishing trips that are action packed with hauling salmon, halibut, lingcod, yellow eye, and countless other bottom fish into the boat. Although morning trips are first preference, quite often we have an afternoon bottom fishing trip that just takes the cake!
This was the case on the afternoon trip Skipper Lynette took out this weekend. “There were so many happy people!” exclaimed Front Desk staff when the trip came in. Halibut and many different species of rockfish were caught and everyone went home with coolers full of fresh fish.
Two very notable halibut were brought into the scale to be weighed. This 23lbs-06oz Halibut was caught by Julie Penner.
Congratulations to Chris Buckland for landing this beauty, weighing in at 26lbs-04oz.
I've just recieved reports that the Long Beach Princess limited out on halibut today. All 14 people and 2 crew on board caught their halibut limits!
The Canadian Princess Resort is open for one more week. It looks like the bite is on, especially for Halibut over this fine September long weekend. Will you join us out on the water this week?
