With plenty of sunshine and calm waters, guests enjoyed some incredible fishing. Victoria resident Karen Watling brought in a 33 lb. Chinook, the largest of the season so far. This was her first time saltwater fishing and her trip on the Chinook Princess proved to be one for the record books. Another angler, Peter Tsang of Vancouver, B.C. reeled in a 110 lb. halibut, the first Masterfisherman of the 2002 season. It took only 5 to 10 minutes to reel it in. According to Peter, it was quite easy to pull up the big slab even though the rod bent to a U shape!
